We are so, so, so excited to announce that Emma, our sister, daughter and Tin Thimble owner, is expecting a baby in August!
Of course, this means we get to make things for this sweet baby and we LOVE to make baby things.
Sharon whipped out a few sweet pieces to send Emma & Chris, and we have to share them with you. We didn’t get a chance to snag fancy pictures on our shop camera before Sharon shipped these off to the mom and dad to be, so please excuse the iPad photos!
This sweet little layette was made for baby boy with a soft cotton and a vintage pattern.
Matching pants and shirt were made using a few of our cotton remnant pieces (at $6/yard, you can’t go wrong!), vintage buttons and twill ribbon.
These clever pants untie on both sides for easy diaper changes. These are made out of this sweet woodland printed double gauze, and this double gauze is the lining.
Emma and her husband currently live in Japan, so this kimono-looking little matching top is just perfect!
The patterns are both vintage Simplicity.
I’m sure we’ll be sharing more sweet baby items in the coming weeks. Do you have a little one arriving in your family? Are you making anything for it? We love to hear what our customers, readers and fans are up to! Thanks for reading!

I absolutely love the clothes. They are really cute and I especially love that they can be used for both boys and girls. I like how you included a little cultural diversity with the kimono version. I’m a huge fan of vintage so you hit a home run for me with these pieces.
