PLEASE NOTE
We are located in a Fruit Packing Shed that was built in the early 1900's. We have radiant heaters and space heaters in the classroom but we do NOT have central heat and air. It is cold in the mornings and brisk for the duration of the day. Please make sure that you wear socks, enclosed shoes, a sweater and long-johns are recommended if you are a particularly cold person. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Large Felted Wall Hanging - Saturday, February 6 10:30-5:00

Embroidery Circle - Thursday, February 11 1:00-3:00

Beginning Hardanger Embroidery - Thursday, February 11, 18 & 25 2:00-4:00

The traditional style of Hardanger work is very geometrical in form and based on several basic shapes such as squares, rectangles, triangles, diamonds, hearts, zig-zags and crosses. The combination and placement of these elements allow an unlimited number of beautiful patterns of all sizes to be created. Materials list will be available upon registration.

Nuno Felted Scarf - Friday, February 12 9:30-1:30 OR 2:00-6:00

This class will explore making a felted fabric with natural fibers including wool, mohair, silk and angora. You will learn to felt these fibers into a base of silk gauze, silk ribbon, net and other woven fabrics cut into strips. We will use yarn, thread beads and lots of other things to add texture and color. It's like painting using hand dyed silk fibers and roving with lots of extras added for texture. Felted Vessel or Small Purse - Saturday, February 13 2:00-6:00

Learn the fundamentals of felt making (without knitting) with a simple seamless felted vessel or purse. This class combines a variety of techniques and ideas including unique closures, straps, flaps and needle felted flowers. A materials list will be available upon registration.

Felted Shoulder Bag - Sunday, February 14 10:00-4:30

Learn the basics of felting wool fibers (without knitting) while creating a useful shoulder bag. We will cover the fundamentals of felting, color and desgin and how to shape a seamless bag. A materials list will be available upon registration.

Thistle & Foxglove Block-of-the-Month Club - Second Saturday of Every Month 10:00-1:00

Join us every month as we focus on one block of Sharon Mansfield's Thistle and Foxglove quilt. Inspired by nature and botanical manuscripts of the Renaissance, this quilt took form. It seemed only appropriate to use natural fabrics, such as hand-dyed wool, linen and organic cotton. Simple embroidery stitches with cotton and wool thread were used so that the simplistic beauty of each piece was not over-powered. A materials list will be available upon registration.

Beginning/Intermediate Crochet - Saturday, February 20 2:00-6:00

Need to learn how to read that pattern for your project you have been wanting to start? Pattern should be an Easy Pattern using chain, slip stitch,single, half & double crochet stitches. Don't have a pattern? We'll have a few easy, great patterns available for you. Students will need yarn and crochet hook size called for in pattern. May be a good idea to also bring a couple different size hooks, larger & smaller than called for, to get the gauge.

Spinning and Fun with Wool! - Sunday, March 7 2:00-4:00

Come and learn how to spin wool into beautiful yarn. If you already have a wheel, bring it along. If you don't have a wheel you can observe and gite it a go on my wheel. We will do some natural dying, spin boucle, learn which breads spin the softest, most beautiful yarn and most of all just have FUN! A materials list will be available upon registration.

Embroidery Sampler Club - Saturday, March 13 1:00-3:30

Come and join us as we add new stictches to our embreoidery sampler at each session! Linda has put together a wonderful collection of over 80 different embroidery stitches for us to learn. Introduction to Needle Tatting - Sunday, April 11 & 18 12:30-3:30

Many of us have fond memories of a mother or grandmother creating beautiful tatted lace. Come join this great heritage and learn to create your own heirloom lace. Introductory Knitting Lessons

We love introducing people to the joys of knitting. Our introductory knitting lessons will familiarize you with the basics of knitting: casting on, garter stitch and casting off. After mastering the basic skills with a simple project, you will move on to more complicated projects, slowly introducing more aspects of knitting: Stockinette (knit and purl), Increasing, Decreasing, etc. These classes are taught one-on-one so our students can move along at a pace that makes them comfortable and confident. We love introducing people to the joys of sewing. Our introductory sewing lessons will familiarize you with a sewing machine, the necessary tools and notions, reading a pattern and becoming familiar with the usual sewing terms. These classes are taught one-on-one so our students can move along at a pace that makes them comfortable and confident. Please give us a call or come in and visit us to schedule a lesson!

Policies

• Classes must be registered and paid for in advance.
• Class fees do not include materials, unless otherwise noted.
• You will receive a class supply list at time of payment.
• Please bring all of your supplies to the first class. Supplies are available at The Tin Thimble and all students
receive a 15% discount on class supplies the day you register and a 10% discount on class supplies
between the day you register and the day of the class.
• Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to set up.
• To receive a full refund for a class that you are not able to attend, a minimum of 7 days notice is required.
If you are not able to give 7 days notice and we can fill your spot from a waiting list, full store credit will be
issued. If you are not able to give 7 days notice, and we cannot fill your spot, no credit will be issued.
• Full refunds will be given if a class is cancelled by The Tin Thimble or an instructor.
