Inspired by Japanese tying methods known as Shibori, Sharon has created the ultimate textural workshop at The Tin Thimble. Students in this in-depth workshop will learn how to use hand stitches to achieve different types of textures and prevent their felted pieces from going flat. Students are encouraged to use loads of different fibers including cheesecloth, handspun yarn, cotswold locks, tubular yarn, corriedale, silk and so many others. Prefelts will also be created and utilized during the workshop to create the ‘fungi’ as well as other elements of the ‘tree bark’ look of the final piece. This shibori felting workshop is an in-depth lesson on creating amazing texture in your fiber art!
Pre-requisite: at least 10 hours of nuno felting experience
Class Fee: $285 + Materials
Instructor: Sharon Mansfield
