We are currently only offering workshops, at our new studio space, on a one-on-one basis in order to keep health and safety a priority. If you would like to schedule a private workshop for this specific class, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a list of FOUR days (weekends and weekdays!) that you are available. We will get back to you with pricing info and to finalize a date. Students in this course will create 3 shibori patterns and then dip their stitched samples in the indigo vat! Two traditional hand stitched patterns will be created, interlinking circles and Japanese larch. The third pattern will be created using a very simple tool: rubber bands. Topics covered will include history of shibori and indigo, how to make and maintain an indigo vat and Sharon’s favorite books and tools for this beautiful art form. We’re excited to say that the kit for this class will include traditional fabric all the way from Japan! Interested in learning even more? Check out the fold and clamp shibori and indigo workshop too!
No experience required.

Is it possible o bring white tank tops or skirts to dye this way?
The Tin Thimble says
Hello Nancy! For this workshop, no. Students will each be given a kit that includes the materials you will use in this class. However, we are planning on scheduling an indigo dip day in which students could bring projects to dye so stay tuned for that workshop! Feel free to give us a call at 916-652-2134 if you have any other questions or would like to be put on a list to notify when the indigo dip day has been scheduled. Thanks for the inquiry.
