LEVEL 1: How to Clean Fleeces & Prepare Raw Fibers

Following our field trip to the Valley Oak Wool & Fiber Mill, students are encouraged to join us for this course on how to skirt, clean and prepare raw fleeces for spinning or felting. Sharon will show students how to clean Border Leicester fleece without the use of harsh chemicals. Topics covered will also include breeds of sheep, properties of different fibers and how to clean your fiber without felting it or ruining the integrity of the fiber. Students are not permitted to bring their own fibers for this workshop, they will use the fibers provided by The Tin Thimble.

No prerequisites required.
