Discover and explore the magic of feathers. In this fun and informative workshop, you will create an elegant wreath that will be perfect for door, wall, or hearth and will command attention at any season. There will be a short introduction that will cover the process of preparing the feathers for use and caring for your finished masterpiece. I will also be explaining which feathers are legal to use and which are not, and how to collect feathers for your own use. You will be learning many of my trade secrets! I will be sharing with you several interesting ways you can manipulate the feathers and the construction technique that I’ve developed over the decades. May it be spring colors or fall, there will be an array of natural colored, exotic feathers to choose from. Your striking, color-rich piece will make a bold statement wherever it hangs.
Supply fee $49 payable to instructor before class, includes: 18’’ grapevine wreath, access to my 30+ year feather collection, other mixed media and all the tools needed.
No prior experience required. This class is perfect for beginners!

Lorra Lee Rose’s journey started in 1986. With feathers as her chosen medium, she has cultivated a network of pet owners and aviaries who gather the molted, natural color feathers. Birds shed a small handful of feathers per season, seriously restricting the supply and thus requiring years of patience and preparation. She has been teaching since 1989, from public schools to mixed media art retreats. Self taught, and a recipient of numerous awards, private commissions, showings at art festivals, galleries and exhibits in museums, Lorra Lee has maintained a flourishing career as a prolific artist.
