The Tin Thimble

The main goal of this workshop is to express ourselves and create. We will be experimenting with a variety of products, textures and embellishments. First we will prepare the tin for it’s many layers of ephemera, paints, mediums, assemblage and various textures that will be applied. After altering the exterior of the top, bottom and sides, you will have a choice of supplies to creating a  vignette for the interior. Lorra Lee will demonstrate several techniques that can be used to create your one of a kind Treasured Tin.  If you have anything meaningful you would like to add, please bring it.

Check out Lorra Lee’s website here and her Facebook page here.

Lorra Lee Rose’s journey started in 1986. With feathers as her chosen medium, she has cultivated a network of pet owners and aviaries who gather the molted, natural color feathers. Birds shed a small handful of feathers per season, seriously restricting the supply and thus requiring years of patience and preparation. She has been teaching since 1989, from public schools to mixed media art retreats. Self taught, and a recipient of numerous awards, private commissions, showings at art festivals, galleries and exhibits in museums, Lorra Lee has maintained a flourishing career as a prolific artist.
