We’re so proud to reveal Sharon’s latest piece: a felted bra! Eight years ago Sharon was going to do the Artful Bra Show at High Hand Cafe with her sister, Carin. The show never happened, and their idea disappeared for a while. She was presented with the opportunity to do a different bra show this year and after moving around some boobie-shaped rocks at her cabin, the idea struck her again. She didn’t want to do it on a hanger, so she enlisted the help of an awesome mannequin that needed a little TLC. After some painting and sanding, the mannequin closely resembles rock, exactly what she was going for to create her “Over the Shoulder Boulder Holder”. Inspired by the Yuba river that runs at the base of her cabin, she felted the bra and incorporated tiny river rocks, feathers, and moss into the piece. She wanted the piece to look like the river bed and used a felting technique that creates what undeniably looks like rivers, in the bra and in the ‘water’ at her base. Ten types of embellishments helped create movement of flowing water. Piece by piece, the felted bra came together and manipulating the flexibility of the felt, she molded each cup and shoulder to fit the mannequin perfectly.
Bravo, Sharon!

As usual, Sharon’s fabulous creativity and fun loving spirit has come alive in her newest creation the Felted Over the Shoulder Boulder Holder. FANTASTIC design and work Sharon!! Wish I could be there to attend the show and see the other creations in person. Who knows, I might have created one myself.
As I read your Class Schedule I just drool and wish I was there to join in the fun. But I’m sitting here in NC feeling jealous of those that are able to take classes at Tin Thimble. I’ve enjoyed Every Class I have been able to take. Have FUN everyone! Think of me as we wait to see where Hurricane Irma actually comes ashore!!
Hugs, Carol
