While we at The Tin Thimble don’t really have “job titles”, it is safe to say that if we had to designate them, Sharon Mansfield (usually referred to as “mom”) would without a doubt be the Chief Creative Officer. In addition to teaching, she’s been botanical dyeing at home, she took a class with Melissa Arnold and she’s been felting some beautiful garments in her spare time at the shop.
This lovely little piece is the example for the Versi Wrap + Optional Day for Dyeing Class. Click the link for class info and more pictures!
After months, and months (…and months…) of experimentation, she succeeded in getting a red-colored over dye! These pieces are some of my favorites of all her botanical imprints so far.
She made this exceptionally beautiful shawl in Melissa Arnold’s Shibori for Felting class a while back. No, sorry, it’s not for sale. She made something for herself, can you believe it?!
Lastly, High Hand’s resident meow, Petunia, really loves Mom’s latest botanical dyed wool pieces. She looked at me as if asking “You mean these aren’t for me?”, before promptly being shooed off.
