Hello everyone! It’s Sharon here today. The scarf rack here in the shop was just about empty so I spent a day this week dyeing some new ones. I use jacquard acid dye, silk habotai and silk chiffon. This never gets old, there are so many techniques to get different effects. For students who are interested in learning how to dye like this, look into this class! My favorite scarf is the red, green and dark purple (almost black) scarf, which one is your favorite?
I also felted a new shawl using our gorgeous black crinkle silk and some of Carin’s hand dyed roving. I embellished it with a coral hand dyed silk in the small circles and I love the diamond pattern. Can you see how shiny the added silk is in the circles? It’s always such a lovely fiber to add.
